Rory Clifford is a graphic designer and front-end web developer based in Salford working across different media, mainly in the fields of art and culture. Services include web design , image making , type design and visual communication, he's looking for new creative opportunities, collaborations and commissions.
As an independent web developer, he creates small, bespoke websites for other creatives and cultural interests. He mostly codes using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Craft CMS, Grav CMS and a tiny bit of JS.
Currently he works for Wild Rumpus CIC, an arts company that seeks to deepen nature connectedness through a programme of events, experiences and creative interventions. For them, he creates graphics, video, websites, branding and print for their programme of activity across the year.
Recently he has built portfolio sites for artists Claire Dorsett and Katie Tomlinson; for art historian/curator Matt Retallick and for photographer Emily Ashcroft. Larger projects include a web archive for The Turnpike CIC, reflecting on five years of art and community in Leigh; a website for London-based music label, Cherche Encore and helped setup a website for a new Manchester-based music publication, SEEN Magazine. Previous work also includes Bound Art Book Fair and Jennifer Lucy Allan and Al Cameron as Interior Motive.
Occasionaly creates websites with Taxi Cab Industries, who often heads up branding and marketing assets of those projects.
Studied graphic design at the University of Salford, graduating in 2017 and since then has worked for Wild Rumpus, initially creating social media graphics before becoming their Digital Designer more recently. In this role, he manages their websites and creates marketing assets across their projects and events.
He lives and works in Salford sharing a studio space with the textile and glass artist, Tara Collette.
