The Turnpike CIC

2022
Could this be Paradise? The Turnpike CIC was an arts organisation based in Leigh, Wigan who wanted a web archive that chronicled the different strands of their work, from 2017 upto 2021. A brightly coloured scrapbook-as-website was created to capture the DIY spirit of their small team that can be reflected upon proudly. Website inactive as of 2024.

Chapter pages and lead graphics take up the full screen. Sub-pages have text coloured to match their containing chapters and the Menu navigation changes colour accordingly.
Chapter pages
Each section was colour-coded; an introduction, activations, exhibitions, artist profiles, community engagement and their learning and young people programme. A custom collage was made for each section index made up of the photographs found within. By combining different shots together, it makes no distinction between traditional exhibition photography and ad-hoc workshop shots.
Exhibition sub-page
The Turnpike CIC produced and programmed various exhibitions across their five years in the heart of Leigh and documented each one. Each sub-page features an image grid tinted the in the chapter colour; when clicked, a fullscreen slider appears revealing the detail of each photo.
Activations sub-page
In the footer of every page, a small icon-based navigation allows you to toggle to the previous or next page in each chapter.
